Q1. What is this site for?
A1. It’s an odds and ends catch-all place for anyone interested. I’m not out to make anthing more thought out than that. I use it to pull together interesting content that I probably posted somewhere else. I also wanted a landing place for people coming to manecke.com.
Q2. Is this a blog?
A2. Sure, if you want to call it that.
Q3. Where did you get the content?
A3. Generally, all the content on this site is mine. I took all the pictures, videos and similar. I’ve used icons and a wordpress template from others, but the rest is me.
Q4. Can I use one of your pictures or video or text?
A4. Check the license agreement on the specific piece of content. This site itself is licensed under a creative commons share-alike attribution license. For a specific picture or video hosted elsewhere, make sure you click through to the source site (for example on flickr) to check the license terms there. See the license link here or at the bottom of each page for specific details of the license that applies to this site’s content. For attribution, please link to the main manecke.com page.
Q5. Who is this?
A5. My name is John Manecke, you may know me from other online presences such as the social network tools atop the left sidebar. You may also know me just because you knew me before the internet existed (ok, I know the internet technically existed since before I was born, but you know what I mean).

A6. Yes, I am.
Q7. How can I contact you?
A7. Is that really even a question anymore? There’s lots of ways listed on this site. Also if you leave a comment I’ll have your e-mail.
Q8. I know someone named Manecke, but it wasn’t you. Do you know them? Can you help me contact them?
A8. I might. Check my page Other Maneckes as they might be listed there. Otherwise, leave a comment and I’ll let you know.
Q9. You’ve taken my last name! How can you claim manecke.com?
A9. I just registered it many years ago. At the time, there weren’t a lot of people rushing out to register domains, so it was pretty easy. I’m happy to share the name based on what my hosting provider will allow. I can easily set up an e-mail address forward such as yourname@manecke.com. I’d probably also be OK with website redirects such as http://yoursite.manecke.com. Just leave a comment and I’ll get in touch.
Q10. How did you build this site?
A10. It’s run using wordpress blogging software. See the very bottom for links to wordpress and for the template I’m using.
Q11. You haven’t posted in while, when will you post again?
A11. Your guess is as good as mine. See Q1 above. If you want more real-time updates from me you could check my twitter stream, but even there, no guarnatees on update frequency.
